About the Art and Peace Commission

The Commission on Art and Peace (CAP) was established at IPRA 2002 in Suwon, South Korea, and it has as its mission: To tap into the human potential for peace by supporting creativity and the arts.

Our commission offered seven successful sessions during IPRA 2004 in Sopron, Hungary, and seven more during IPRA 2006 in Calgary, Canada. We are now receiving proposals for IPRA 2008 in Leuven, Belgium.

We invite you to join us in our exploration of the links between creativity, music, theatre and the arts, and the development of a more humane world at all levels, in order to promote a more vibrant and effective culture of peace.

CAP is supported by the email group and website of the Transcend: Art and Peace Network (T:AP) (see our brand new website under construction at http://tapnetwork.org).

For more information, to join the T:AP/IPRA-CAP mailing list, or to submit a proposal for IPRA 2008 in Leuven, please contact one of the two co-conveners.
